Thank you so much for having this group. Art is very healing for me. My photo is of a shrine I made; I wish you could really see the detail of it to appreciate it. But it is my favorite. Blessings to All. Annamarie13 |

Went to art school back in 2003/04 it was a very bad time for me yet this door opened to discover art, painting, drawing, sculpture with mixed media and it was so fantastic. There were areas I couldn't do comfortably due to abuse areas in my life. I haven't done anything for sometime now but have done lots of pen and ink drawings and abstract with acrylics and using different mediums to create different pictures. To date I have only one picture left, long story. But I must admit to feeling inspired yet again to go back to it. Started a degree in fine art but due to circumstances could complete it and was really sad about that. Maybe it's time to do it again. |

Recently, someone close to me was affected by art in a transformative way:
RaghallachAfter seeing a piece of art (a beautiful tattoo sleeve to be specific), she was sent into the highest reaches of ecstasy. She went out-of-body for the first time, and when she came to her first words were, "everything has changed." Since that experience she has been walking her road of spiritual practice, and the continuing effects are apparent. We discussed shortly after how interesting it was that an experience with art is what "sent her up."
Her experience struck me as unique at first, but now it seems I've been underestimating the power of artistic inspiration in relation to spiritual experiences!
