About Me
I have recently become a Buddhist and as my friends don't seem to get it ("That's cool...but what about Christmas?") I guess I'm just looking for friends who do.
Also, if anyone has any advice on good books for a new teen Buddhist to read, please let me know.

Thanks for welcoming me as a friend here! I admire your youthful march into your own unique beliefs and spirituality. I had my initial spiritual awakening of sorts when I was a junior in high school, and that led to some Zazen and reading quite a bit of Buddhism and Taoism. Then I found Jiddu Krishnamurti, perhaps a more recent Buddha; his book The First and Last Freedom is particularly good (a collection of his talks really). You might check him out next time your at Barnes and Noble or wherever. His books are in the Eastern section usually, because he is from India, but what I love about him is that he doesn't represent any tradition or culture, but instead is a completely first hand and authentic thinker/person. Anyways, happy to know that some young people are taking those first steps into their spiritual life because I don't meet many young people who seem concerned about the deep stuff. I guess it was the same when I was young, me and my friends were pretty unique. Anyways, have a look at my website, and add any thoughts you have to my blog (link from my page). Take care, and happy introspecting! Ty
