I had forgotten about making this comment.... I have recently found out that circumcision is not required for conversion to the Reform movement of Judaism, which has opened up the floodgates of enthusiasm for me. I've been in touch with a Rabbi in preparation for attending my first Shabbat service next week, I've been discussing my interest with my husband, who is also intrigued, and I'm very excited about the possibility of finding a faith community where I don't have to compromise my integrity by ignoring or reinterpreting aspects of the faith I actually disagree with (my current strategy as a Catholic), and (hopefully - I shall see once I've attended the Shabbat service) yet still have my desire to connect to God through ritual and liturgy still present. That's my update, but I'd still love to hear from anyone else who converted from Catholicism... I've come to realize that I can appreciate the wisdom of Jesus without being Christian, just like I can appreciate the wisdom of Ghandi without being Hindu! Shalom :)
