    Passivity Versus Patience

    Sunday, April 29, 2012, 10:40 PM [General]

There is a world between being passive and patient, but the differences can appear subtle. Passivity is a rejection of your natural powers, whether they be intellectual, physical, or emotional. It is a waking death, an insult to any belief system. It is also a complete disregard for your fellow man and any gifts you can share or receive. Please read the rest at my site:

How Can Everyone Be So Lonely?

    Thursday, April 19, 2012, 5:08 PM [General]

We are two different genders, but we are both human, so why do we seem to be at odds at each other? I have observed, especially in young adults, how confused we seem to be in each other’s company, how uncomfortable. It is as if we don’t speak the same language and are unwilling to learn.

There doesn’t seem to be much benefit in the battle of the sexes. No one gets what they want, whether it’s love, sex, attention, or money. The value in getting to know a person is extinct because most of us insist on not being very interesting. We are encouraged to live by our desires, yet we are more repressed than ever. It is possible to live a satisfied life. It is open to everyone, but you have to know that you want and get it in a positive way. It’s just not necessary to take advantage of someone to get it. It’s like an emotional mugging. Please read the rest at my site:

How Not to Be a Kill-Joy

    Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 12:39 PM [General]

As humans we tend to make the same mistakes over and over again. Basically they all come down to this: not being fully present. It’s opposite, mindfulness, is a basic Buddhist concept, and without going into a full definition, there are a few things to get from the idea. The first is the presence of happiness. Where does it exist? Only in the now.

This a fast-paced society but we spend a lot of time waiting; waiting on the phone, in line, in life. And while patience is to be valued above all virtues, you can’t just be doing nothing. And worry counts as nothing. Please read the rest of the article on my site

    Figuring People Out

    Sunday, April 15, 2012, 9:06 PM [General]

First of all, what is the point in ‘figuring’ someone else? Usually it is because we want something from them (attention, love, comfort, money), and we think that by cracking their code, we can control them. And if we can control them, we will be happier. The problem is that every human being is like an ocean – always changing, shape-shifting, moving. When you accept that no one can be pinned down, even for a minute, you open yourself to other ways to get what you want. Please read the rest at my site:

    weeds and cultivating joy

    Thursday, April 12, 2012, 10:34 AM [General]

I think that weeds are in many ways more beautiful than garden flowers. They know how to grow on their own. They make the best of their circumstances and thrive. Flowers only survive in controlled environments. They require formulas to grow and there is no mystery in their bloom. Read the rest at my site here:

    Pleasing yourself first

    Wednesday, April 11, 2012, 2:59 PM [General]

Pleasing yourself is not a selfish concept. It’s important to do for yourself because only then can you do for others. For example, if you could not change your car tire, how are you going to help change your friend’s tire? This is a very basic but effective way of creating positive change in your life. If you know what makes you happy and attractive, you can bring those same feelings out in your partner, child, or co-workers. Please view the rest at my site:

    being happy first

    Wednesday, April 11, 2012, 1:40 PM [General]

People don’t bring us happiness; we make it ourselves. This is how the law of attraction works in a nutshell. Be ok with who you are, be open to change. Waiting on someone to make you happy is a misplacement of priorities. It is like waiting to be paid before you will work; it’s not the most efficient mindset. Invest time in yourself, and then the time you give to others will be more precious. See the rest at my site:
