About Me
Greetings! My name is Carl McColman. Here's how I describe myself (at least, this week): American Celt, freelance author, aspiring contemplative, student of mysticism, and interfaith-friendly Catholic Christian.
I am the author of ten books on a variety of spiritual topics. Most
of those books were written between 1997 and 2004, when my primary
spiritual identity was Neopagan. However, after a life-changing
pilgrimage to Ireland, I felt called to return to my faith of origin,
Christianity, as expressed through Roman Catholicism. I was confirmed
in the Catholic Church in March 2005. Now my primary areas of study are
Christian mysticism, contemplative prayer, and Celtic spirituality. I
remain friendly to other faiths, including the Neopagan community, and
seek positive opportunities for dialogue between traditions.
