About Me:
I hold a masters degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. After working in the public school system I left to raise my three children—ages 26, 19, and 17. I took a non-traditional path toward parenting, opting to give birth to my two younger children at home with a midwife, sending my children to the Waldorf School—an alternative education based on anthroposophy (a spiritual philosophy founded on the teachings of Rudolf Steiner), following a macrobiotic lifestyle--eating foods that were seasonal while skipping meat, dairy, and refined sugar and raising my children with the yin-yang model of balance by using natural medicine like homeopathy to treat my family’s ailments. I continued my mind-body education by receiving my Level I Shiatsu training, a Japanese bodywork technique, and practiced the discipline of Wu Shu and Kung Fu martial arts.
In 1997, after stints in commercial acting and bodybuilding, I collapsed with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. It was then that my self-healing really began. I used my breath—and my health. Following an awakening to help others align to their innate healing potential, I received my ISHTA yoga certification from Yogiraj Alan Finger. I was already teaching group yoga classes when I met the teachers I would devote my future studies to: John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga and Dr. Douglas Brooks, a world renowned scholar of Rajanaka yoga philosophy.
My yoga practice has grown beyond physical poses. Most of my time is spent in private practice empowering individuals and couples through the tools of yoga and my own life experience.
I say a big "YES" to being on the Beliefnet community and meeting all of you!

wishing to contemplate the notion of "who are you?" and "who do you wish to be?" and "does that make you a better person on the planet?" whose lives do you touch by you being you?
are you being ALL you are capable of becoming.? that has been my work...moment by moment.
