Hi everyone - I'm currently at the beginning of a transition from a career in critical care nursing to interfaith ministry, hopefully as a chaplain. I recently returned to So California after traveling for 10 yrs and settling in Virginia.
I was raised Roman Catholic, baptized Baptist as a teenager and left when I was a teenager.Walked on the wildside for a few years, then found my way into recovery. Been there a while.
I got interested in energy work for my bodywork practice, which led me to study Eastern religions, Native American spirituality, and many healing modalities.
When I took a parish nurse class several years ago, I was led to reexamine my religion of origin and embrace the traditions and rituals that spoke to me as I have w/ other traditions. I also was able to better incorporate my spirituality into my nursing practice. I ultimately felt called to ministry, particularly w/ professional caregivers. There is a great need there. AA and Al-Anon remain my primary faith communities. I'm new to internet spirituality. I've enjoyed browsing this website. I'm open to respectful discussions of our differing faith traditions. I like learning about other faiths, and would love to share about recovery, mysticism, healing, spirituality...Blessings to all!
May your Birthday be happy and may you have many more. Thank you soo much for the spirit of light you add to our group. May this journey into your 50's be fun, exciting and filled with new experiences. Love and Light; asakwa
