If the virus does not mutate, then the flu will be harmless, no worse than a normal flu.  If the virus does mutate, it will make the vaccine useless.  The reason we're working so hard on a vaccine is because we expect the flu to be dangerous and mutate. 

The vaccine is just a public relations gimmick to make us think our government is doing something.
